Blanes is a well-known tourist destination on the Costa Brava, where you can find a plethora of activities to try out during your holidays. Blanes is a place where there is plenty to see and plenty to do!

Whilst in general there is much do in Blanes, there is one event really worth trying to catch. If you find yourself in Blanes towards the end of July (normally 21st till 27th) you could be lucky enough to catch the 'Concurso de fuegos artificiales', a fireworks festival that lights up the night sky in Blanes and is one of the biggest of its kind in Spain and even Europe.

Simply strolling through Blanes you will come across plenty of monuments and churches such as the 'Iglesia de Santa María', the recently reconstructed gothic fountain or the 'Castillo de San Juan'. There is also a lovely botanical garden in the town, being the perfect place to settle down and read a book or simply soak up the everpresent sun!

Also worth checking out are the go-karting centre (perfect to keep the children occupied, or even the adults!) and the scenic Medas Islands, a maritime reserve a few kilometres off the Costa Brava coast.....a true jewel in Blanes' crown.
